Abstract

This study aims to determine the relationship between leg muscle explosive power and running speed in football players. The research method used is a quantitative description with correlation techniques. This research was conducted in June 2020 on recreational football players from the Nanggung Football Association, Bogor. The total sample used was 45 recreational soccer players, aged 20-30 years who were taken using purposive random sampling. The explosive power of the leg muscles is measured by standing long jump test and running speed is measured by calculating the distance and travel time (m / s). The results obtained showed that the muscle explosive power value was 240.33 ± 23.16 and the running speed value was 4.53 ± 0.48 and the results of the hypothesis test with the Spearman-Rank Correlation obtained p value = 0.007 (p <0.05) with r = -0.397 which means that there is a relationship between the explosive power of the autok and the running speed where the higher the explosive power value, the smaller the running speed value. So it can be concluded that there is a significant relationship between the explosive power of the leg muscles and running speed, especially in football players.
