Manfaat Pelvic Floor Muscle Training untuk Memperbaiki Inkontinensia Urin pada Lansia

Background: Urination disorder or urinary incontinence is defined as a condition in which a person cannot control urination. This happens due to decreased bladder function and decreased muscles around the urinary tract. The prevalence of urinary incontinence reaches 20% in women and increases by 30% with age (Sohn et al, 2018). Objective: This study aimed to determine the effect of pelvic floor muscle training on urinary incontinence in the gymnastic group in Manggar City. Methods: The research method using pre-experiment, with a research design that was a pre-post-test group design. Population of 42 elderly women from the elderly gymnastic group in Manggar City and obtained a sample of 35 elderly women with the purposive sampling. Results: The data obtained were carried out by a nonparametric statistical test to test the effect using the Wilxocon test obtained p = 0.000 (p <0.005). Conclusion: Pelvic floor muscle training has an effect on urinary incontinence in the elderly exercise group in Manggar City.
