Abstract

Abstract

Objective: To prove the relationship between cognitive function and post-stroke human balance disorder. Methods: this research used descriptive quantitative with a correlation study. The sample was selected using a purposive sampling technique. The sample consisted of 30 post-stroke people at the Sasana Husada Physiotherapy Clinic where cognitive function was measured using the mini mental state examination  and balance was measured using the timed up and go test (TUGT). Result: Normality test obtained data with normal distribution. The results of hypothesis testing with the Pearson product moment correlation test with a value of p = 0.001. The level of correlation between cognitive function and balance disorder with a value of r=-0.824. Conclusion: There is a strong relationship with the lower cognitive function, the more severe the balance disorder in post-stroke humans.
