Abstract

Abstrac

Objective : Application of insole with thicker at the back of the shoe creates continuous dynamic eccentric contraction, therefore the glucose uptake is longer.  The objective of this study is to identificated the influence the use of shoe insole 5° and 10° toward decreasing fasting blood glucose on type 2 diabetes mellitus clients.

Method : The research design used was quasi-experiment study, pre and post test design. Study subjects were 19 persons dividing into 2 groups.  First group use shoe insole 5°for 5 days dan the second group use shoe insole 10° for 5 days.

Result : The study said that group with shoe insoke 5° has p=0,15 means H0 accepted. This result showed the hypothesis that there is no influence of shoe insole 5° in decreasing fasting glucose in the blood.  The group with shoe insole 10° has p=0.01, therefore H0 did not accepted. This result showed the hypothesis that there is an influence of shoe insole 10° in decreasing level of fasting glucose in the blood.

Conclusion : The use of shoe with insole 10° gives influence to decreasing fasting glucose in the blood on type 2 diabetes mellitus patients
