ABSTRACT
In the impact of the spread of SARS-CoV-2, WHO recommends the use of masks as a comprehensive series. There are those who state that the use of masks can affect the cardiopulmonary system by increasing breathing which will have an impact on aerobic endurance. Aerobic endurance can be seen through the Maximum Oxygen Volume (VO2Max) test. One of the physical exercises that are known to increase endurance or physical fitness is jogging. The purpose of this study was to determine the effect of jogging using a medical mask on the maximum oxygen volume level (VO2Max). The design of this study was a quasi-experimental with one group pre and post test. The study was conducted for 4 weeks with 12 times the frequency of jogging exercise in 20 samples. The sample in this study were men aged 18-24 years. Measurement of maximal oxygen volume using the Balke test. Vo2max before and before giving the jogging intervention was 32.4 and 45.5, bivariate results showed p-Value 0.0005 (p<0.05) this indicates a significant effect on increasing Maximum Oxygen Volume before and before the intervention. The conclusion of this study is that the use of medical masks while jogging can increase the maximum oxygen volume (VO2Max) in men aged 18-24 years.
